September 2–6, 2025
We're glad you are here!
Welcome (Back) events are opportunities for new and returning students to connect with university resources, communities, programs, and opportunities available to them as graduate students at Illinois.
A Welcome (Back) Message from Dean Chodzko-Zajko
"Whether you're just starting your graduate experience or returning with fresh perspective, I want you to know that you are part of a community that believes in your potential and is here to support your success..."
An Interview with Chancellor Charles Lee Isbell, Jr.
As we welcome new and continuing students to the start of a new academic year, we thought we’d extend a warm welcome to another new Illini, Chancellor Charles Lee Isbell, Jr. In our conversation, he shared a bit about himself as well as some sound advice on the journey of graduate school.
Can you Spot the Spot?
Whether you have walked the far corners of campus or only seen it from a distance, we have a playful Spot the Spot game just for you.

We have prizes!
Stop by the Graduate College (507 E. Green Street, Champaign) during Welcome (Back) Week to enter our prize drawings.
You might win a lunch with the dean, a produce basket from the Illinois Sustainable Student Farm, ice skating passes, or a plush woolly mammoth!
