Statement of Purpose

In 500-800 words, please type your statement of purpose in the box below. Please feel free to cut and paste your statement from a Word document (NOTE: formatting from Word will not copy). If applying as part of a team, please discuss your team’s history of effective collaborations. Please note that each teacher must submit an application.

Your statement should address the following issues:

  1. Explain how the nano@illinois RET will benefit you and your students/school.
  2. Discuss your interest in nanoscience and nanotechnology.

If you applying for a second year in the program, please also address the following:

  1. Explain how you have integrated experiences from the nano@illinois RET program into your classroom since your summer participation.
  2. Discuss any module(s) developed as part of the nano@illinois RET program (i.e. titles, descriptions, use in classroom, levels and numbers of students who participated, observed student outcomes, etc.)
  3. Please describe how the nano@illinois RET program would benefit from your participation as a master teacher.
Research Interests
Please note that we will do our best to match you with your preferred project/faculty mentor, but that this cannot be guaranteed. Projects are subject to vary at faculty mentors' and management team's discretion.
