Symposium on Graduate Education
Don't miss the 2011 Symposium!
The Symposium on Graduate Education, first offered by the Graduate College in 2003, offers a campus wide opportunity for graduate students, faculty, and alumni to learn about and discuss the challenges and opportunities distinctive to graduate education today. Past symposia have explored topics related to:
- The diverse career trajectories of advanced degree holders
- The impact of family on the career paths of academic women and men
- Improving the graduate student experience (including discussions on time to degree and degree completion)
- The shared responsibilities of faculty and graduate students in the mentoring relationship
- The responsible conduct of research
Keynote speakers have included Lee Todd, Bob Weisbuch, Maresi Nerad, Mary Ann Mason, Chris Golde, and Drummond Rennie.
