Voter Disenfranchisement in the 2000 Presidential Election

The 2000 Presidential election is highly suspected to have been stolen by President George W. Bush with the help of his allies. Due to the fact that the Voting Rights Act was never applied to the state of Florida (Section 5 with regards to Blacks), Governor Jeb Bush, made sure that his brother, presidential hopeful, George W. Bush, won the state of Florida by any means necessary. This paper measures the impact organizations like The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People had on the corruption, discrimination, and disenfranchisement that occurred in the 2000 presidential election. I am conducting this research to better assess and understand the cahin of events that occurred during the 2000 Presidential Election. My research will explore: reports of African Americans whose ballots were rejected in the state of Florida, as a result of African Americans being traditional supporters of the Democratic party, how the governor of the state of Florida Jeb Bush played a key role in the voter discrimination and ballot rejections of African Americans, and how Bush and his allies manage to manipulate the electoral system in the 2000 presidential election. My hypothesis is that Governor Jeb Bush manipulated Florida's electoral system, in order to ensure that his brother George W. Bush became the 43rd president of the United States of America.
