The Upward Bound College Prep Academy and the Politics of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB)

The purpose of this study is to examine the debate over Upward Bound Programs within the context of the politics of No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). My research questions include: What is the impact of Upward Bound on minority student achievement, what are the implications of NCLB for the future of Upward Bound Programs, and what does the debate over Upward Bound Programs tell us about the politics of NCLB? Through information gathered from a review of current academic literature, I will be able to capture Upward Bound's complete impact. I will discuss: the impact of Upward Bound on minority student achievement; the implications of NCLB for the future of Upward Bound Programs; and the debate over Upward Bound Programs in the context of the politics of NCLB. I this research, I concluded No Child Left Behind talks about helping student, and Upward Bound actually help their students.
