North America Free Trade Agreement in Texas: Employment Construction or

The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has been a controversial issue since its introduction. Many have argued that NAFTA has increased trade for Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Various studies have been conducted and statistically prove a positive effect for all countries participating under NAFTA. Other parties dispute such results and state that NAFTA has primarily created problems for the United States, while benefiting Mexico and Canada only. The following research will focus on how employment in Texas has been impacted by NAFTA. Economic activity will also be reported since it has a significant relationship with employment. There is also going to be a concentration on four border cities in Mexico and Texas: Brownsville-Matamoros, McAllen-Reynosa, Laredo-Nuevo Laredo, and El Paso-Ciudad Juarez.
