Multicultural Community Center: An Addition to the Springer Cultural Center

This architectural design project explored the design implications of a truly multicultural community center, that emphasized diversity and cultural, in the Urbana-Champaign area via programming and designing a possible structure. Through precedent studies and site research, a site adjacent to the Springer Cultural Center in Champaign, IL was selected in hopes of expanding the programs and community impact of the center. Meeting with Springer Center officials and determining their needs designed a program that best fit their goals for an addition to the center. Once a final design was determined, detailing was done using 3D Computer Models. A proposal of will be put forth to the director of the Champaign Park District, which runs the Springer Center, to decide on the future of the Multicultural Community Center.
