The Interface of Text and Photographic Images
This research concerns the relationship between writing and visual art, with a focus on the effect of photographic images. It is meant to extend upon previous investigations on the subject matter by specialists in various fields, such as art history, linguistics, semiotics, etc. By recognizing the interaction of words and images all throughout world history and their common roots, we seek to define their relationship within our new physical and environmental space. Technology has blurred basic distinctions between media, and the number of artworks featuring text has increased. Photography stands as one of the most ubiquitous and straightforward among artistic media. Through this particular discipline, we wish to determine the ways in which language can be employed in an artwork to deliver a message.
