The Impact of Diversity: Procedures in Promoting Hispanics in Both Public and Private Sectors

Diversity has become a top priority for many organizations due to the increase of minorities entering the workforce. Many organizations have implemented diversity-training programs in order to educate, retain their employees and continue to compete in this changing global market. The study contrasted the difference among public and private organizations in promoting diversity and minority enhancement. The research consisted of extensive literature review, and interviews in one private and one public organization. The questions addressed the difference among private and public organization's diversity programs and the opportunities offered to minorities. The interviews have determined if private and public sectors embrace diversity in their organizations and the methods used to implement diversity training. In addition, this paper discusses the policy procedures used when interviewing and hiring prospective candidates and if such policy procedures affect prospective Hispanic candidates. Finally, the paper discusses the opportunities for minorities to grow and develop within private and public organizations. This research paper provides readers with a better understanding of the importance and impact diversity has on Hispanics growth and development in public and private organizations within the United States.
