Harlem Renaissance Poetry
This research will discuss how poets of the Harlem Renaissance, specifically the structure of their poetry and the contribution they made to African American literature while being denied the full measure of social equality. I will take an in-depth look into the works of Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen, Gwendolyn Bennett and Helene Johnson. Each poet has their own style of writing, but they each address many of the same themes. In conducting my research I hope to give readers a better understanding of the different structures and style of the Harlem Renaissance poetry.
