Gender and manager turnover in advertising: Are women better than men in sustaining

Rapid growth of women in executive positions, historically dominated by men, made gender a determining factor in creating successful businesses and in maintaining relationships with clients. Using historical data, this research analyzed whether there are any gender effects in manager-client relationships at the moment of manager turnover, specifically for client dissolutions at advertising firms. Also, we studied if gender may affect client relationships depending on the types of jobs people have on the advertising work area. Results provided partial support for one of our hypotheses. We discuss the implications of our findings for research in organizations.
