Exploring Social Identity Development Among Racially Diverse College Students
The research project is an analysis of multiple social identities among 38 racially diverse freshmen college students. The purpose of this study was to gain an understanding of how social identity is perceived over time. Participants completed a demographic survey and a reflective narrative regarding their views on social identity. Common themes emerged within the data can be helpful in developing future strategies to promote and implement multicultural education in a diverse college environment. These themes can also assist students' social identification process to be a less complex matter.
