Computer Technology in Education

The need for technology in education has been rapidly growing in the twenty-first century. Classroom based computer technology has not always been addressed or implemented in the curriculum. However researchers have investigated technology in education over the past decade, and have tried to deduce how technology can be implemented into the classroom successfully. Current research focuses on how technology in education is being approached in the classroom, and how students are being affected. To further this body of research, I distributed a one-time survey of twenty questions to sixteen students on their use, awareness, and knowledge that computer usage is having in the school. The major outcome of the survey was that students were well aware of the primary features of computer technology. Preliminary results have given the present instructor useful knowledge about her students' preparation in the use of computer technology. These preliminary results have helped me as a future educator. I have learned how I can successfully implement computer technology into my future classrooms.
