Accessing Student Information using Business Objects

This session was specifically designed to assist the College Graduate Contacts with creating reports via Business Objects (BO) using EDW data to more efficiently perform their jobs.

Overview
Decision Support and an EDW Overview
Preparing to use Business Objects
1.) The user’s Business Object password must match their Oracle password. In order to sync these passwords, go to: https://www.ds.uillinois.edu/asptest/password_reset.asp.
2.) The user must have Business Objects installed on their computer.
3.) The user must have access to the following (6) DS Business Objects Universes:
- EDW – Current Applicant
- EDW – Current Recruit
- STU - Registration Complete/Limited
- EDW - STU - Registration Census
- STU - Academic Records
- Catalog and Schedule
If you do not have access to these BO Universes, contact your Unit Security Contact (USC) to request access be granted to your user id. Find your USC: http://www.aits.uillinois.edu/live/Site.xml?document=UscList.xml&focus=N4

4.) Get access to the AITS Standard Reports – Decision Support does provide the EDDIE/Infoview portal that is used to access these reports. However, these reports are maintained by AITS and the Functional Offices.
