Assistantship Clearinghouse

The Assistantship Clearinghouse lists assistantships available to graduate students at the University. Units wishing to post available assistantships may use the Assistantship Posting Form.
GSLIS Graduate Assistantship - 50% Appointment (20 hours/week) percent

Under the direction of the Sr. Special Collections Conservator, this position assists in the day to day operations of the conservation unit in support of the Library’s Special Collections.

Undergraduate Library Research Assistantship - 25% percent

Research Assistantship (10 hours/week) available for graduate students in the department of Computer Science. Begins June 2012, ending May 2013. The research work will modularly build and evaluate a mobile application that uses modified OCR software and a suggestion database to identify library resources that support student assignments or topical interests; suggestion platform will suggest research databases, search terms, relevant course reserves, and course help pages. 

 
 
University Housing Graduate Assistantship - 25% percent

Mission of the Residence Hall Libraries:

The primary mission of the Residence Hall Library System (RHLS) is to support the residents, staff, and programs of University Housing at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The RHLS provides students with resources that meet their educational, social, and cultural needs. We foster unique learning opportunities through our information resources, collections, and programming. Our collections and programs support all aspects of students’ lives both academically and personally. Our mission complements the missions of University Housing, Residential Life, and works within the frame work of the University Library’s mission.

 

Minority Student Affairs Pre-professional Graduate Assistantship - 25 percent

Graduate Mentors provide enrichment and mentoring services to assist students in the President's Award Program (PAP) and the Educational Opportunities Program (EOP). Graduate Mentors assist the Department, Division, and the University with narrowing retention, achievement and graduation gaps between targeted AALANA students (i.e., African American, Latino/a, and Native American students), at risk individuals, and the larger student population. Graduate Mentors help the department realize a vision that creates a culture of student excellence.
