Campus Visit Programs
The Graduate College offers two Campus Visit Programs to encourage students to accept your offer of admission to your graduate program and to become a part of the larger campus community. Both are intended to broaden participation at Illinois by supporting the efforts of departments to increase the number of underrepresented graduate students.
Community of Scholars Campus Visit Program

This year the Graduate College is organizing the Community of Scholars (COS) Campus Visit program, which will take place March 11-13, 2012. We have had a great turnout for this event. We invite students and faculty to join us from 3:30 - 5:00 PM on Monday, March 12 at the I Hotel Conference Center to see many of our current graudate students present their research.

Departmental Campus Visit Program
The Graduate College, with the support of the Chancellor and the Provost, established the Graduate College Campus Visit Program several years ago to help graduate units bring to campus underrepresented racial/ethnic minority students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents that have been considered for admission. With the Departmental Campus Visit Program, units set a date for the visit.
If you are unable to participate in the Community of Scholars Campus Visits program, please consider inviting admitted students from underrepresented populations to visit the campus and your program. Departments are encouraged to give careful consideration to the campus visit and the factors that may enhance a prospective student’s enrollment in our programs. Thus, we ask that you provide a tentative itinerary detailing the formal and informal activities for the students’ visits.
