Joint Programs of Study

If applying to one of the following joint degree programs for admissions, you will be required to submit two separate online applications:

  • Architecture MARCH and Computer Science MCS
  • Architecture MARCH and Urban Planning MUP
  • Landscape Architecture MLA and Urban Planning MUP
  • Public Health MPH and Urban Planning MUP
  • MBA and any other program

When applying, you will need to submit two online applications: one application under each major of the joint program application. This will include uploading all application materials separately to each online application record, and your recommenders will also need to submit two separate letters for each online application record.

You only need to pay one application fee. When submitting the first application, please pay your fee by credit card. When submitting the second application, you will be able to select Yes to being eligble for an application fee waiver in the Application Information page of your online application. In this section, please enter "Joint Program Applicant" in the field labeled "Allied Agency."

If applying to the following joint degree program for admissions, you will be required to submit only one online:

  • Architecture MARCH and Civil Engineering MS

When applying, you will need to submit one online application and one application fee.

For the Architecture and Civil Engineering joint program, you will find this option in the Architecture degree program options in the Application Information page of your online application.

If applying to one of the following joint degree programs for admissions, you will be required to submit one graduate online application and another separate application for the College of Law through http://www.law.illinois.edu/ or www.lsac.org:

  • Chemistry MS and Law JD
  • Computer Science MCS and Law JD
  • Human Resources and Industrial Relations MHRIR and Law JD
  • Journalism MS and Law JD
  • Master of Business Administration MBA and Law JD
  • Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences MS and Law JD
  • Urban Planning MUP and Law JD

When applying, you will need to submit one graduate online application and one application fee.

You will find your joint degree program the Graduate College Major (Chemistry, Computer Science, Journalism, Labor and Employee Relations, Master of Business Administration, Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, and Regional and Urban Planning) degree program options in the Application Information page of your online application.
